About Us

Group Health Physicians is among the largest and most honored multi-specialty group practices in the Pacific Northwest.

We are nearly 1,400 physicians, PAs, midwives, mental health specialists, osteopaths and optometrists focused on prevention, evidence-based practices, and patient-centered care.

Group Health Physicians has over 550 specialists practicing in 26 specialties, including oncology, neurology, orthopedics, emergency medicine, cardiology, pediatrics and women’s health—to name a few.

We contract with Group Health Cooperative (GHC) to care for patients in Group Health Medical Centers, and in contracted hospitals and care facilities statewide. Together GHP and GHC integrate medical care and financing to create a nationally recognized health care system. Our medical leaders and board members work in partnership with Group Health Cooperative management.

Group Health Physicians is a recipient of the American Medical Group Association’s Acclaim Award, which honors physician-directed organizations that best incorporate the six care attributes called for by the Institute of Medicine: care that is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable. The AMGA represents over 100,000 physicians who serve more than 100 million patients.

Affiliate member, The Permanente Federation
Group Health Permanente is the legal name of our corporation, which formed in 1997 after more than 50 years as a part of GHC. Today we use the DBA name Group Health Physicians, and retain a proud collegial affiliation with the Permanente Federation and its medical groups.
