In honor of Veterans Day, we would like to spotlight the work of
Judy Bond, PA-C

In honor of Veterans Day, we would like to spotlight the work of Judy Bond, former captain in Army Military Police Corps and current physician assistant at Silverdale Urgent Care and Tacoma South Occupational Medicine Clinic.

PA Judy Bond
Judy joined the Army in 1979 and spent the next 11 years traveling across the country and around the world in service of our country. Some of her notable campaigns include:

When it came time for Judy to consider a second career after the military, she was drawn to the role of physician assistant. “I had always been interested in health, fitness, sports, and helping people,” said Judy. “So with the guidance and support of my husband, Vern, I was able to accomplish these goals by becoming a physician assistant.”

In addition to her physician assistant duties, Judy has been instrumental in creating a new Group Health staff resource group called Veteran Employee Team Support (VETS) and now serves as the group’s president. Their goal is to provide opportunities for all staff members who are interested in participating in military-oriented social and community service programs.

According to Judy, the new VETS group is just another reason why Group Health is a great place for veterans and their families to work and receive care:

“In the military we worked together as teams to accomplish any given mission. And here at Group Health, we also understand that working as a team we can we can accomplish greatness well beyond the sum of individuals,” said Judy. “Teamwork can mean the provider and patient working together as a team for a common goal. Or, it can mean the privilege of being a team member of the very best primary care provides and nursing staff, with immediate access to an extensive network of highly talented medical specialist. Both are reasons why I love working here.”

Thank you Judy, and all veterans, for your sacrifice in keeping
America safe and free. We salute you!
